Caring for people in a fast-changing world

The work of Temasek Foundation (TF) covers great breadth and depth, and every year presents a new challenge for Yellow Octopus (YO) to present the organisation’s impact meaningfully. In 2023, the brief was to move away from conventional corporate annual reports to something that was more interactive and human, showing how TF was caring for people in a fast-changing world.

To do good well together

United under the key theme—to do good well together—the annual report came in the form of a microsite and four videos that would raise awareness of how TF was partnering with key organisations to impact lives, economies, and the environment. Our approach focused on the following key elements:

Clear Content Pillars

Stories were segmented into four content pillars—Uplifting Communities, Protecting the Planet, Connecting People, Advancing Capabilities—for browsing ease and to showcase TF’s all-encompassing impact.

Four Video Stories

For more human-centric and engaging storytelling, four videos were shot that featured TF’s partners and their work with different communities. One example would be TF’s beneficiary Trampolene, a non-profit social innovation enterprise dedicated to helping young adults with special needs realise their full potential. The video followed Kai Xuan, a 21 year old diagnosed with autism and ADHD, and how she became an assembly technician with Trampolene’s help and guidance.

Accessibility & Inclusivity

By incorporating assistive technologies, the microsite was made accessible to all users including those with physical challenges.

Downloadable Version

To provide flexibility for users, we also designed a downloadable and printable PDF version of the report, ensuring that the content could be accessed and shared offline.

2.5 million lives touched across Singapore & Asia; here’s to many more

From content development and video production to web development, this project allowed us to ideate and stretch ourselves to deliver a comprehensive and cohesive digital report. The opportunity to collaborate with beneficiaries on-the-ground also helped us develop greater appreciation for Temasek Foundation’s wide-ranging work in the context of the wider ecosystem.
